Michael Barrett
After starting my career as a special educator, I have spent the last 20 years working for durable medical, diabetic supply, and nursing providers in partnership with Managed Care Organizations to improve access and population health. I have observed inefficient gaps between providers of care, health plan members, and the sources that fund their care. Using the Interconnected Systems Framework and CalAIM’s new Enhanced Care Management initiative, I strive to efficiently connect students with their physical and behavioral health providers and Community Supports that address Social Determinants of Health like transportation, housing, and food. I have led the launch of DragonFly Forward’s Enhanced Care Management program, including program development, obtaining funding, hiring, and partnering with Technical Assistance providers. I look forward to developing school communities into health hubs that improve outcomes for students, families, and the people who support them.
